The narrative of this project is informed by the creative merger of two seemingly disparate systems embraced by the client: the dictums of the ancient principles of Feng Shui and the clean lines of modern architecture. A translucent glass entry gate leads to a linear walkway planted with a series of staggered bars of Equisetum. Aligned parallel to the pathway, they create a meandering, maze-like procession to the home’s entry. A controlled palette of materials, subtle grade changes and the effective use of water elements enhance a sense of calm and expansiveness.
