Gathering space for a new community

Treasure Island Plazas

Andrea Cochran Landscape Architecture is designing the new, 4-acre, Building One and Marina Plaza public open space at Treasure Island. This project is part of the Phase 1 implementation projects of the Treasure Island development plan and central to the urban core of this new neighborhood. The two plazas are the front and back porches of the historic Building One. The project is a celebration of the colorful history of Treasure Island and the iconic Building One, situated in its unique vantage point in San Francisco Bay.

The project is the front entry to the new Treasure Island neighborhood with an adjacent ferry terminal linking the San Francisco Ferry Building with its Treasure Island counterpart, Building One and Building One Plaza. The project heavily relied on the communication between engineers, ecologists, historic preservationists and many other agencies.
