Abby Suckle, the president of Culture NOW ,  says " The work of Andrea Cochran . . .  often draws from the natural features of the site with minimalist and quite lovely design solutions. To us, capturing the ephemeral is about documenting the fragile, the fleeting, the understated and the transitory. It is a huge challenge. "   Culture NOW features Andrea Cochran Landscape Architecture in their December 2013 newsletter.

CVRB voted best public plaza

John King says the courtyard of the Cardiovascular Research Building at UCSF-Mission Bay is the best (semi)-public plaza of 2012. "This handsome lab building by SmithGroup with Jim Jennings Architecture was joined in 2012 by an entry plaza along Nelson Rising Way between Third and Fourth streets. Andrea Cochran Landscape Architecture unfurled an abstract homage to the salt marshes that might once have been here, with varied rows of clumped grasses amid benches and communal tables. It's artistic but also comfortable - no easy feat."
