Andrea Cochran spoke at the International Meeting of the Landscape and Garden in Bergamo, Italy. This year's theme was the Wild Landscape.
ACLA will speak at the 2016 National ASLA Annual Meeting in New Orleans this coming October. On Sunday the 23rd, Principal Andrea Cochran will engage in a conversation with fellow landscape architect Ken Smith entitled "Elevating Experience: Methods in Artistic Practice," moderated by ACLA team member Hope Hardesty. On Monday the 24th, Cochran will participate in "The Craft of Residential Landscapes through Personal Narratives" alongside landscape architects Shane Coen and Michael Boucher. For each talk, Cochran will discuss her specific approach to design and share personal stories of challenges and successes. We hope to see you there!

The second half of 2014 was a whirlwind of award ceremonies for Andrea. In September, Andrea and the other National Design Award Winners were honored at a lunch with the First Lady, Michelle Obama. October's National Design Week in New York City culminated with the Cooper Hewitt National Design Awards Gala. And in November, Andrea was presented with the ASLA Design Medal at the Convention in Denver.
We have a lot of exciting projects in the office and are looking forward to building beautiful landscapes in 2015.

John King says the courtyard of the Cardiovascular Research Building at UCSF-Mission Bay is the best (semi)-public plaza of 2012. "This handsome lab building by SmithGroup with Jim Jennings Architecture was joined in 2012 by an entry plaza along Nelson Rising Way between Third and Fourth streets. Andrea Cochran Landscape Architecture unfurled an abstract homage to the salt marshes that might once have been here, with varied rows of clumped grasses amid benches and communal tables. It's artistic but also comfortable - no easy feat."

Allegheny Square Park on the North Side, which closed last July for renovations, was not the sort of place usually associated with the word "park." Mostly concrete, the old space lacked grassy areas and shade from trees.... see link
