Folsom and Dore Housing

San Francisco, CA

Architect: David Baker + Partners, , Frost-Tsuji Architects

Folsom and Dore is a 98-unit supportive affordable housing development located in the SoMA neighborhood. The residence accommodates households burdened with chronic homelessness, physical or developmental disabilities, HIV/AIDS or other special needs. A series of terraces, planted on grade, offer residents quieter outdoor spaces, while a large central courtyard, including a play area for children, provides for collective use. Each unit includes its own private outdoor space, whether a balcony or terrace. Lush planting, bright colors, and character-rich materials offer residents inviting landscape rooms.

The project is LEED Silver certified and has won numerous awards for sustainable design and green building.
