Coastal serenity

Cypress Retreat

The gardens of this Pebble Beach retreat emphasize the tranquility of the natural surroundings while also creating a series entertaining areas. Carefully placed walls, planting and changes in level define spaces, frame views of the Pacific Ocean, and provide privacy.

The team on this project demolished an outdated home and replaced it with brand new luxury estate, fully taking advantage of its prestigious location adjacent to the 18th hole on the famed Pebble Beach golf course. The resulting 20 million USD property was exquisitely designed to consider every amenity, both indoors and out, leading to a quick sale.

Carefully placed walls, planting and changes in level define spaces, frame views of the Pacific Ocean, and provide privacy. A central fire feature is the hearth of the main formal patio, while the grill is hidden behind another, more casual fireplace off of the kitchen. The spa off of the main floor bedroom sits in private garden overlooking the ocean. The soothing sounds of the entry courtyard fountain mask adjacent noises from the clubhouse tennis courts and provide a quiet haven for contemplation. Composed patios vignettes bring light into the lower level and expand the living space.
