Civic Center Playgrounds, San Francisco, CA
The Helen Diller Family Foundation has commissioned Andrea Cochran Landscape Architecture to design and implement two re-imagined playgrounds facing City Hall in San Francisco’s historic Civic Center Plaza. A collaborative process with The Trust for Public Land and the Recreation and Parks Department is encouraging interagency coordination and community participation for this challenging area. The playgrounds will be unique and artful play spaces that fit with the scale of Civic Center, creating an inspiring, fun and safe place for families. Children play within a forest of slender poles, climbing into clouds that have been tethered as the fog rolls through the city.
